Kindred is a local ministry with the burden to reach children, teens, young adults, and the young at heart through music. We partner with local artists and musicians, churches and organizations to bring high quality concerts and events to the tri-state area and to present the message and the gospel of Christ in a fun and non-threatening manner. Kindred is a three fold ministry that is designed to help the local music scene and be an outreach to the community. How do we do that? 1) By providing an outlet for local bands and artists to get their name out, let people know where their upcoming concert and events are going to be held, provide resources such as CD/concert reviews and to post pertinent information to their fans and music lovers at large. 2) To reach out to the community and be a light by providing concerts and events throughout the year. 3) Provide encouragement, encourage unity and celebrating diversity and what God is doing locally through music and ministry with the Kindred Awards.
About the Founder:
Tim Ewing got his start in ministry as a youth director and served in various churches in South Jersey for over a decade. Upon getting married, Tim found his calling in ministry to take a different direction and began utilizing his background as a radio DJ and Youth Pastor to create a music outreach ministry called Kindred. Partnering with local artists in the tri-state area, Tim began hosting concerts in schools, local parks and in the community to be a light and to share the gospel through music. As Tim began to interact and learn the hearts of the local artists he partnered with for outreach, he noticed many of them were discouraged and feeling overwhelmed with the burden of doing ministry without a huge record label or following. Tim once again heard God asking him to take his ministry to another level. That is where the Kindred Awards emerged from. With the intention to bring encouragement and unity to the local music scene, the kindred awards were born to celebrate what God was doing through local music and ministry in NJ, PA, DE, MD and NY and to honor local musicians who were doing amazing things for the Kingdom with little or no recognition. Now going on its 9th year, Tim continues to produce and orchestrate the Kindred Awards to encourage the body of Christ, bring unity, showcase amazing local music and talent, and to bring honor and glory to God to which is ultimately what the whole ministry is all about.
